Cross-Posting: Make One, Publish Five

You already paid the expensive cost — thinking of the idea, writing it, filming it. Publishing it on one platform and moving on is like cooking a feast for one guest. The same vertical video, lightly adapted, serves five platforms and five different audiences. Here’s the system.

The hub asset

Make every reel as a clean master: vertical 9:16, hook in the first two seconds, on-screen text for muted viewers, and — critically — no platform watermark. Export and store the clean file; watermarked re-uploads get quietly buried by rival platforms. The master lives in your library; each platform gets its own upload.

Per-platform adjustments (2 minutes each)

• Instagram Reels: your styled caption with the query phrase up front, 3–5 hashtags, and stories push on posting day.
• TikTok: more casual caption, lean into comments-bait (“which sign should I do next?”), native trending sound where it fits — energy runs rawer than IG.
• YouTube Shorts: the title IS the strategy — write it as the search query (“How to find your Moon sign”). Shorts have the longest search tail of all five.
• Pinterest: post as Idea Pin/video with a keyword-rich title and description. Pinterest is a search engine wearing a social costume — your content works for months here.
• Facebook: Reels + your page; astrology audiences skew older and share generously. Repost with a slightly warmer, fuller caption.

The rhythm that makes it sustainable

1. Batch day produces the masters (see the Batch Day lesson).
2. Each publishing day: post the master natively on your primary platform, then 10 minutes of adapted uploads to the other four. Schedulers can automate most of it.
3. Once a month, check which platform over-performs relative to effort — that’s where your next experiment gets its budget.

Three mistakes that undo the system

• Watermarked re-uploads — the silent reach killer.
• Same caption everywhere — platforms index captions; identical text wastes each platform’s search behaviour.
• Judging all platforms by one platform’s metrics — Pinterest’s month-two performance can beat TikTok’s day-one spike. Different clocks, different value.
