Most astrologers price by guilt: “who am I to charge that?” So they charge little, book too many sessions, burn out, and quietly quit. Pricing is not a statement about your ego. It’s the architecture that decides whether your practice survives. Here’s the architecture that works.

Price the outcome, not the hour
An hour of your time is not what the client buys. They buy clarity on a career decision, peace about a relationship, a map for their year. Outcomes are worth incomparably more than hours — and the same 60 minutes, packaged as a named offer with a clear promise, sells at multiples of “a reading, €40”. If you remember one sentence from this lesson: name the transformation, then price the transformation.
The three-step ladder
- Step 1 — accessible (€5–20): digital products: guides, packs, templates. They earn while you sleep, and they let strangers trust you with a small yes before a big one.
- Step 2 — recurring (€10–99/yr): membership. Predictable income smooths the feast-and-famine cycle every reader knows.
- Step 3 — premium (your readings): 1:1 work, priced properly BECAUSE the ladder exists — the lower steps filter and warm your buyers, so premium clients arrive pre-sold.
How to raise prices without panic
- Raise on new clients first. Existing clients keep the old price for one more booking, with notice. Nobody feels ambushed.
- Add structure, not minutes. A written summary, a follow-up question, a preparation sheet — deliverables justify price better than length does.
- Kill the à-la-carte menu. Three clear offers beat eleven confusing ones. Confusion is the most expensive thing on a sales page.
- Rehearse saying the number. Out loud, until it sounds like a fact. Clients hear hesitation as “negotiable”.
The maths of respect
Count every unpaid hour a session really costs — preparation, the session, the summary, the emotional recovery. If a €40 reading takes four true hours, you work for €10/hour, and resentment is scheduled. Price so that you can serve fewer people better. That’s not greed; it’s quality control.
Try it yourself
Write your current offers in three lines — accessible, recurring, premium. If a line is empty, that’s your next build. If premium is priced like accessible, you’ve found the leak.

Worked example: finding a real floor
An astrologer charges €70 for a sixty-minute reading and cannot understand why the work does not add up.
