Social SEO: Get Found When People Search — lesson cover

A quiet shift changed social media: people now search it like Google. They type “what does a stellium mean”, “moon sign vs sun sign”, “mercury retrograde survival” straight into TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. Content optimised only for the feed dies in 48 hours; content optimised for search gets discovered for months. Here’s how to be findable.

Think in queries, not topics

A topic is “the 8th house”. A query is “why is the 8th house scary”. People search questions, in their own words, misconceptions included. Before making content, write down the exact phrase your person would type — then use that phrase, verbatim, in your spoken words, your caption’s first line and your on-screen text. You’re not gaming anything; you’re answering in the asker’s language.

Where keywords actually matter

  • Your name field and bio: “career astrologer”, “synastry readings” — profiles rank in search too, and most astrologers waste the field on poetry.
  • The caption’s first sentence: platforms read it as the content’s summary. Front-load the query phrase.
  • Spoken audio: platforms transcribe your voice. Saying “moon sign meaning” out loud IS optimisation.
  • On-screen text: OCR is indexed. Your title card is metadata.
  • Hashtags: demoted from magic to metadata — 3–5 relevant ones beat 30 generic ones. Think of them as category labels, not reach hacks.

The evergreen library strategy

Search traffic compounds only if the answer stays true. Build a library of evergreen answer-content — “how to find your rising sign”, “what each house rules”, “synastry basics” — and refresh the top performers every few months with a better version. Trend content is a spike; search content is an asset. A healthy mix: two evergreen answers for every one trend piece.

Steal your queries from real people

  1. Type a topic into the platform’s search bar and harvest the autocomplete — that’s live demand, spelled exactly as people search it.
  2. Mine your DMs and comments: every “quick question…” is a query with proof of interest.
  3. Check which of your posts still get saves weeks later — saves are the strongest “this answered my search” signal.

Try it yourself

Pick one question clients always ask. Make one piece of content that answers it, with the query phrase spoken, written on screen, and opening the caption. Then check its reach curve in a month — search content shows its tail.
