Fire · 20 March – 19 April
Aries
Start the thing badly rather than plan it well.
Aries in a birth chart
A sign means something different depending on which planet is in it. These are the four people ask about most, written as they would go into a reading rather than as a keyword list.
Sun in Aries
what the life is organised around
The life organises around starting things. Momentum is the reward, not completion, which is why the third month of anything is harder than the first day. Directness reads as courage to people who like it and as impatience to people who do not, and both readings are accurate.
Moon in Aries
what is needed in order to feel safe
Safety comes from being able to act. Feelings arrive fast, at full volume, and pass faster than anyone else expects — which reads as volatility to people who are still upset an hour later. Being managed or slowed is the thing that actually causes distress.
Rising in Aries
how you arrive before anyone knows you
Arrives quickly and directly, and is read as confident whether or not that is how it feels inside. Firsts are easy — first conversation, first move, first week. The mismatch to watch is between the speed of the arrival and whatever the Moon actually needs.
Venus in Aries
what is wanted, and what counts as beautiful
Wants directly and moves first. Attraction is immediate or absent, and the pursuit is more compelling than the arrival. Boredom is not a complaint here but a genuine dealbreaker.
Mercury and Mars in Aries are in Interpretation Blocks, along with the same four for the other eleven signs — 72 paragraphs in total.
Aries season
Aries season is for beginnings, and specifically for the kind of beginning that happens before you are ready. The energy is short and hot: it will not carry a twelve-month project, but it will get something out of the drawer it has been in since October. Use it on the thing you have been circling.
What Aries season overdoes
Starting as avoidance. Three new projects in four weeks is not momentum, it is a way of never being at the difficult middle of anything. If you finish this season with more open than you began, the season used you.
Two questions for this season
- What have I been about to start for more than six months?
- What would I do this week if I were not going to tell anyone?
Three practices and three more questions are in the Zodiac Season Workbooks — 36 practices and 60 prompts across the twelve seasons.
When Aries season starts, exactly
Most places give an approximate date, because the Sun does not enter a sign at the same moment every year — it drifts by up to a day and a half. These are computed from an ephemeris, to the minute, in UT. Add your own offset.
| Year | Sun enters Aries |
|---|---|
| 2026 | 2026-03-20 at 14:40 UT |
| 2027 | 2027-03-20 at 20:21 UT |
| 2028 | 2028-03-20 at 02:15 UT |
| 2029 | 2029-03-20 at 08:00 UT |
