Email for Astrologers: The 5-Email Welcome Sequence — lesson cover

Every follower you have on social media is borrowed from an algorithm that changes its mind quarterly. Your email list is the only audience you own. And the highest-leverage asset in email isn’t the newsletter — it’s the welcome sequence: five automatic messages that greet every new subscriber and quietly turn curiosity into trust.

Why the first week decides everything

A new subscriber’s attention peaks the moment they join — they just downloaded your freebie, they’re curious, you’re memorable. Two silent weeks later, you’re a stranger in their inbox. The welcome sequence spends that peak deliberately, instead of wasting it.

The five emails

  1. Day 0 — Deliver and welcome. The freebie link, one warm paragraph about what your emails will bring, and one question: “what made you download this?” (Replies train inbox providers to trust you — and hand you audience research.)
  2. Day 2 — Your story. Not a CV. The moment astrology became real for you, told like you’d tell a friend. People buy readings from humans, not from credential lists.
  3. Day 4 — Your best free teaching. One genuinely useful mini-lesson, no strings. This email does the heavy lifting: it proves the paid material must be good if the free material is this good.
  4. Day 6 — Proof. One or two real testimonials wrapped in a short story about the kind of transformation your work produces. Not a sales pitch — a demonstration.
  5. Day 8 — The soft offer. Now, and only now: “if you’d like to go deeper, here’s how we can work together.” One offer, one link, zero pressure. The previous four emails did the selling.

Rules that keep it working

  • One idea per email. One link per email. Ruthlessly.
  • Write like you talk; read each draft aloud once.
  • Subject lines: curiosity beats cleverness — “the chart mistake I made for years” outperforms wordplay.
  • After the sequence ends, a simple weekly or biweekly rhythm keeps the relationship warm. Consistency beats brilliance.

Try it yourself

Draft all five emails in one sitting (they’re short — 150 words each is plenty). Load them into any email tool’s automation. This is four hours of work that greets every future subscriber for years.

Next lesson: the strategic choice underneath it all — selling products versus selling hours, and why you need both in the right order.

The welcome sequence is the highest-open window you will ever get with a subscriber. Most astrologers waste it on a logo and a discount code.
