Horary is the branch of astrology that answers a question from the moment it was asked. Not a personality reading and not a forecast — a specific question, with a yes or a no at the end of it. It is a closed discipline with its own rules, and this course teaches all of them.
What this course is
Twelve lessons, each taking one mechanism and going to the bottom of it. Every lesson carries a worked example with real placements you can put on a wheel and check, a section on where beginners actually go wrong, and something to practise the same day.
It is written for somebody who can already read a chart — you should know the houses, the rulerships and what an applying aspect is. If those are new, start elsewhere in the Learning Zone and come back.

What it will not do
Two things this course is deliberately honest about, because most horary writing is not.
Timing is the weakest part of the art. The traditional method converts degrees into time units chosen by a judgement call, and the same chart can be argued into days or months. Lesson 9 gives the method and then says plainly what it can carry.
Some questions should be refused. Horary is the branch that most resembles being handed an answer, and people act on answers. Lesson 12 is about the questions to decline and how to decline them without making somebody feel foolish for asking.
How to work through it
In order. Everything from lesson 5 onward depends on 3 and 4, and the two lessons about limits come last on purpose — a caveat delivered before competence is just discouragement.
Each lesson ends with a three-question check. The real work is the log: question, chart, judgement written down before the outcome, then what happened. A hundred entries will tell you more about your own reliability than any amount of further reading.
